Miffy celebrates launch of online flagship store

Cartoon brand miffy celebrates the launch of its flagship store on Chinese ecommerce site Taobao Mall. The official miffy online store offers a trusted place for buying a wide range of authentic miffy products. The launch of the store is celebrated with exclusive miffy products for fans of the cute cartoon bunny from The Netherlands. Energize is responsible for creation and management of the store.

The iconic illustrations of miffy are loved throughout the world with books in over 50 languages and a museum in The Netherlands. The Miffy TV series has been aired in more than 70 countries, including China. Dutch artist Dick Bruna created miffy in 1955. Dick Bruna still draws miffy up to today, since its first drawing of a rabbit spotted during a holiday near the seaside.

The official online flagship store offers lifestyle and baby products including books, fashion, cups, jewellery, towels, plush and more. The store also futures exclusive products not sold anywhere else in the world. It aims to become the number one online destination for miffy products in China.

The store on Taobao Mall, China’s largest ecommerce site, will be miffy’s key online retail channel in the country. “We are proud to launch a flagship store in China and being able to offer customers authentic and exclusive miffy products. Through this store everybody in China will get access to miffy products” says Marja Kerkhof, managing director of Mercis B.V., the company behind miffy.

With over 500 million Internet users in China and the rapid growth of ecommerce the opening of the store is a milestone for the miffy brand. Besides the Taobao Mall store, miffy engages thousands of fans on social media sites Sina Weibo and Qzone.

The store is managed by digital marketing agency Energize. Energize is responsible for the digital and social media marketing of the miffy brand in China. “We aim to create a huge success of the miffy store by engaging fans on social media with new and exclusive products”, says Klaas Weima, managing director of Energize.
